A Community of Dance

Selkirk Dance Association is a non-profit, co-operative community organization that operates by being heavily dependant upon parent volunteers. Our Mission is to provide a safe, exciting, positive, and stimulating atmosphere which allows the students to enjoy their love of dance.

Our Goals Include

  • Providing high quality dance education allowing the exploration of dance through movement, various styles and routines.

  • Providing an opportunity to relate and grow in relationships with other dancers.

  • Providing a safe environment that will allow students to develop confidence, self–identity, self-esteem as well as physical and emotional well-being.

Our Board of Directors is made up of elected parent volunteers. The Board is responsible for the general operation of the organization. This includes administrative, instructors and financial matters. Parents with questions or concerns are invited to contact a Board member.

A board of directors is elected at an Annual General Meeting that is held annually in October. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend. This meeting is to inform parents about student enrolment, financial matters, important dates and information about rehearsal and recital for the dance year. It is a great time to share your ideas and offer any help you can.

The safety of our dancers and families is our number one priority. Keeping that in mind we will be maintaining smaller class sizes, sanitizing common areas more frequently and staggered start times to minimize exposure.
